The best, most professional guides in the World of Warcraft community are like leveling power tools. The authors, players who have been around since the earliest “beta” versions of the game, aren’t just well respected players who pass along their tips, no.

Those well respected players now let you choose if you want to automatically and easily follow the path that they forged. Its like being the shadow of a perfect player, constantly and effortlessly being carried from location to location, certain that there’s very few, if any way to do it any better, or any faster.

While World of Warcraft is full of great content and good times, there are some drawbacks to it as a massively multiplayer game. The biggest draw back inherit in World of Warcraft is the massive game world, the thousands of quests, and the lack of direction on where best to level your character… and its EXPANDING regularly.

A Super-Efficient Secret

When a speed runner (or “power leveler”) plans out their questing patterns, they do so with the goal of making their leveling speed and their route taken the most efficient imaginable. Each and every location in World of Warcraft is taken into account, along with the time taken to travel there, the time taken to go between questing locations, and even the location of little known quests that occur along that leveling route.

The end result can be seen when you trace the path of these levelers — highly efficient routes which take you along the shortest path that saves you the most time possible, while completing as many quests as possible before its time to turn them in for that big experience hit.

The Star, or “Squiggle” Leveling Pattern

I often explain to friends and visitors that the “average” World of Warcraft player’s route is like a star, or child’s scribble. They head out in one direction, complete a quest, and then back track to another location over the other side of the zone, and so on, until the path they trace resembles a messy squiggle.

If you view the overhead maps drawn up by the best fast leveling experts, you’ll see long arcs, circles and tightly bunched points where they’ve clearly found efficiently aligned questing locations, or groups of nearby, fast to complete quests.

The information I’m referring to above is what you get when you get a professionally formatted leveling guide. Not some fancy tricks, no secrets (well… I’ve found a lot of quests I never knew existed!), no questionable software or “robots” that do it for you.

Just the fastest, most efficient route that ensures you’ll never waste your time in World of Warcraft again, and you’ll never wonder in frustration about where to go next.

What About “Map Mods”?

There is one other important aspect about all good leveling guides – and that is how the guide is formatted. Many guides today are simple e-books, either in Word or .PDF format, which means you need to leave the game to be able to read them, which takes up time that could be better spent leveling.

The greatest thing I’ve found about in-game leveling guides is the directional arrow you’re provided which literally points the way to where you need to go next. You don’t need to open up a map, you don’t need to try & work out where a coordinate is – you just select your leveling range, and the guide shows you visually which way to go from there.

Now, I hope all this is sounding good to you, because I’m very passionate about using these guides myself, and I want you to know how fast these guides can get your leveling speeds – not to mention the time & annoyance factor they eliminate.

But there is one small catch amongst all this good news, and that is…

“Which Guide Do You Choose?”

Its no small question – there’s literally dozens of World of Warcraft guides available on the Internet, and its practically impossible to tell which are the good guides, and which are the bad. After all, we’re on the Internet here, not a book store, and we can’t see what we’re getting until we’re using it.

I’ve played every major leveling guide available for World of Warcraft, and I’ve weeded out the worst and highlighted the best. Why you might ask?
