Brian Kopp… Who is he? And what’s so great about his fast leveling guide?

Lets start at the beginning, shall we?

Brian has been around for a long time now. He started out years ago when he created a free leveling guide that he distributed on his webpage www.marsgamer.com. Brian says he was sick of seeing old Blizzard guides out there that weren’t up to the standards he was after, so he went about making his own.

Apparently somewhere along the line there he got in trouble with Blizzard (maybe for once the line “the guide Blizzard doesn’t want you to know about” isn’t just some corny sales line??), but his guide is out there now for all to see – and has become very popular.

In case you’re wondering, I should point out that there is absolutely nothing dodgy about Brian’s guide. Perhaps its pushing the envelope of gaming guides, but Brian guarantees all the tactics and tips are 100% legit, and won’t get you banned by Blizzard. In fact if it DID breach any of Blizzard’s rules, the page would go down… FAST.

So hopefully that rests your mind a little – because Brian’s guide is great for anyone who hates the grind.

Just reading through his website at www.briankopp.com is enough to understand that – he really gets that people don’t want to kill thousands of wolves, bunnies or rats to get to level 70. He understands that people want to play World of Warcraft, and enjoy themselves while they do it.

In other words, he likes to power level and keep all the enjoyment you get when you play “just for fun”!

I can respect that. No one wants to sacrifice fun just to level quicker, right? Its sorta like the old saying, “its not the destination but the journey”. Not too many gamers get that – but I think Brian does.

Brian is also into my favorite little tool – the map mod. He understands too that no one wants to alt tab out of the game world, just to try & line up coordinates & all that boring stuff. POINT & SHOOT is what a good guide should let you do. Its simple & quick, so you don’t have to hunt around in those websites looking for quest info.

So to sum up, who’s going to like Brian’s guide?

• Alliance players only!! No horde guide available (though Brian seems to like Joana’s Horde guide).
• People who are keen to level up AND have fun while they’re doing it (no grinders here)
• People who want to level as fast as possible without leaving the game every five minutes (go the map mod!)
• People who want a free trial of the guide they’re gonna buy! That’s right…

Some of us gamers actually have lives, right?

We have social lives, family lives, work lives… They’re lives we desperately want to keep, but man, we just love to play World of Warcraft!

I know sometimes we just don’t know how to do that while keeping up appearances with friends or family, or, we place our friends and family priorities above our gaming enjoyment… but hey, its hard to find the time to play enough World of Warcraft to reach the more interesting heights of the game, right? I hear ya.

We all know the stereotype of WoW players… Little kids that go to school (sometimes) and play WoW the other 23 hours of the day. It’s like they’re unstoppable leveling machines needing only twinkies to survive.

But we can’t get our gaming boots on that often… we love the game and all, but how on earth do you find the time to play AND actually “make it” as a World of Warcraft super hero? I tell ya, I was pretty sick of killing the same old stuff and never getting anywhere after being in the game for months.

If you’re like me you may actually want to get into the meat of the game. You want to get out into raid territory and nail some good stuff. Stuff that drops high quality blues & purples. I know there’s plenty of players amongst us sighing in desperation over how long it’s gonna take to grind through the rabbit-bashing boredom. Its kinda frustrating, I know.

Or maybe like me you have a few friends who play WoW, but they get a little more “WoWing” time than you do… Time enough to get 2 or 3 levels above you, and by that time you’re pretty much done. You’re out. The level gap is too large and you can’t play with them anymore. You might have mates good enough to “lower themselves” back to your level to help you out, but it never quite works out, does it? You miss a week or so and your buddy thinks, “I could wait for my friend, but I’ve got some free time, I’m playin!!”

I don’t blame them, my friends and I used to have that problem all the time. It ended up almost ruining the game for us until we found out about being able to level faster with power leveling techniques…

Wouldn’t you love to be able to get an hour of World of Warcraft in, and then NOT have to feel pissed that you’ve got to stop playing? Wouldn’t it be great having no regrets about having to stop, because the session you just finished was more like a leap towards next level, rather than a limp?

Wouldn’t you love to be able to excuse yourself from your girlfriend or boyfriend for an hour, and then not have that hour turn into 4 hours as you “just try and make it up to your friend’s level”? I don’t want to try and make you feel bad about this, I mean, a great part of the appeal of World of Warcraft is socializing with your friends online. But we still feel bad because we neglect other parts of our lives more deserving (not that our fun and relaxation time playing games isn’t important!).

Well, as I alluded to before, there are a bunch of ways you CAN play World of Warcraft and have a life, too.

Thankfully (and strangely if you ask me!), we have a great community of fast leveling junkies called “power levelers” and “speed levelers” who play the game inside out and back to front to find the very fastest way to get your guy (or gal) to the highest level in the game, in the shortest time humanly possible. Emulate these speed-freaks and instead of groaning about killing off your 522nd “Savage Bear”, you and your friends might find yourselves enjoying end-game monsters and hoarding blues & purps!

When I’m playing my Horde Warlock, I go with Joana… if I’m playing any of my Alliance characters, I’m going with Zygor. Though Zygor’s guide might be a little easier to use, its hard to pass up taking the exact same leveling path that won Joana the Blizzard speed leveling competition.
