Getting gold is an integral part of World of Warcraft, and not just for getting cool gear, but for leveling fast, too.

In fact, if you use any of the fast leveling guides I suggest here on this site, its very possible you’ve found yourself out leveling your bank account, and out leveling your profession skill levels.

This can have some nasty side effects, such as:

• Not being able to afford good gear,
• Being unable to gather in zones because your skills won’t let you skin/mine/pick herbs,
• Not being able to afford a mount at level 30 or level 60, and in bad cases
• Not being able to afford skills as you level up (recruit a friend is notorious for this).

So yes, leveling fast can have some side effects.

Most of these side effects thankfully are covered by one of two things; either you have high level alts that can supply gold to your new characters, or, you find out how to make more gold yourself.

And that’s exactly what I intend to help you do – work out some easy ways to make more gold in WoW to support your leveling speeds.

I’m no expert, but I’m going to share the good items I’ve found sell well, and some ideas on using the auction house well!

Dugi's Ultimate World of Warcraft Guide Reviewed!

This week brings my next in-depth WoW leveling review, and this time its Dugi’s Ultimate World of Warcraft Leveling Guide. What did I think? Is it worth checking out?

My last week of play has had me going from level 30 through to level 35, mostly in Hillsbrad Foothills, Thousand Needles, and Stranglethorn Vale.

The key differences I found in Dugi’s Ultimate WoW Guide when compared to the other guides on the market are:

I could hardly believe it when I found out – someone has already made a Wrath of the Lich King leveling guide.

I thought to myself, it must be junk… after all, its only been a few weeks since release. How much could anyone learn in that time?

I was of course set straight by the author, who has in fact been playing since the beta for Wrath of the Lich King was released, and is a grizzled WoW vet from the very first beta of World of Warcraft. In that time since the Wrath Beta, he’s leveled up numerous characters to level 80, explored in depth the new content, and of course hunted down all the “how to” info on leveling up in Wrath while you enjoy the new expansion.

What’s could be worse than leveling slowly? I’ll tell you – its leveling slowly when you KNOW that if you just had some decent equipment, you could cut your down time in half, and get back on the leveling bullet train.

The worst thing about some power leveling and speed leveling guides is that you’re never told about how to make the gold. And of course, without gold, you’ve got no good equipment. Because you’re spending so little time leveling, you’re not accumulating all the loot you were when you were grinding it out!

So while it might seem I’m a bit off topic from my usual power leveling and fast leveling talk,  I’m not… I’m just speaking about another tool you can use to speed up your leveling rate. This tool is gold. Gold buys better gear. Better gear kills bad guys quicker, which means you get your character to where you want it to be faster.
